How It All Began
A few years ago, my mother, a fiercely independent and hardworking woman, suffered a debilitating stroke. Her life turned upside down in an instant, and with her health declining, she found herself unable to keep up with her bills. Despite her best efforts, the mounting medical expenses and financial strain became overwhelming.
Her home, the place she had worked so hard to maintain, was foreclosed on and sold at auction. Watching my mother lose her home was heartbreaking. It was more than just a house—it was a place filled with memories, a symbol of her strength and independence.
At the time, I was also struggling. I was out of work and dealing with my own financial hardships, but seeing my mother in this situation sparked something in me. I felt a deep sense of responsibility to do something—anything—to help her. That’s when I began researching foreclosure laws, overages, and the process of reclaiming excess proceeds.
The journey to recovery
